Laboratory and Testing
We now offer our clients access to full laboratory testing. Inside of each clinic, we host a third-party laboratory service to make it easier for our patients. This makes it convenient for you to access all of your medical services in one location in El Paso, Texas. We have access to test blood and urine to test for diseases and conditions. Blood tests are common to see how your body is working. Most blood tests don’t require any special preparations. For some, you may need to not eat any food for 8 to 12 hours before the test. We will let you know how to prepare for blood tests.
During the blood test, we take a small sample of blood usually drawn from a vein in your arm using a needle. Some tests are as simple as a finger prick. The procedure is quick and easy and do not cause any serious reactions. Our laboratory (lab) workers draw the blood and analyze it, right here in our location in El Paso, Texas. They use either whole blood to count blood cells, or they separate the blood cells from plasma or serum. This fluid is used to measure different substances in the blood. The results can help our providers detect health problems in first stages and to see when treatments or lifestyle changes are needed.
It is important because our doctors cannot diagnose many diseases and medical problems with blood tests alone. Your doctor may consider other factors to confirm a diagnosis. These factors can include your signs and symptoms, your medical history, your vital signs (blood pressure, breathing, pulse, and temperature), and results from other tests and procedures.
Our lab services include testing for:
- Blood work
- Drug use (Marijuana, Cocaine, MDMA, Opiates, Methamphetamine, etc.)
- STDs (Sexually Transmitted Diseases)
- Urinary tract infections
